Found this little guy scuttling across some well worn paths in Islamorada. Didn't want him to get stepped on so in exchange for a photoshoot, I took him back to some safer areas.

Love Hermit Crabs! I have 6

I know it's wrong to keep them in captivity but I give them a good home here in cold Minnesota, and I know if I didn't take them home from the pet stores (that take very poor care of them) then some 6 year old would take it home and fail to give it what it needs.

Haha nobody's judging! As long as the crab has a warm healthy home, who cares where it lives. I only let this one go because I was in islamorada, in the FLorida Keys and he was a wild crab.
