There is something special about skyline photography in that you have to work to get it just right. The exposure and the depth of color is something that may make or break the picture. I went out looking for photos that weren't just sky pictures with a silhouette city or buildings with a washed out atmosphere. Where are the photos that showcase the architecture and the sky without sacrificing either? Here's a sampling of those I think completed the job.

One of my favorite types of photography centers around being creative with an everyday object. Most of us have had the pleasure of owning a pet goldfish. The cheapest yet somehow most artistically inclined fish here at dA has graced many a fav list. I thought it was time to do a feature on some creative work inspired by this hardy little water dweller. I chose these works for their excellence in execution, creativity, and color choice.

I know I never write in my journal. I'm sorry! My life's been up down and all around!
I got a promotion at work, my side businesses are doing well and moving again.

I'll probably be more active in the coming months since I'll have a lot more time for myself. Well, that may not be true as I'll have a lot more time for my buds and for sleep too hehe.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Another six swift months have passed, and let me tell you how things have been going. I've been at my job for a little over six months now and things are going wonderful. I've really clicked with the people I work with and the opportunity to excel is everywhere! I've started considering graduate schools already and will probably reunite with academia either Fall '09 or Spring '10. It's an exciting goal to gear myself towards especially since these six months have really helped me understand what I feel I should go back and study.

I've become more active, more happy and more steeped in my current relationships through a series of good, and bad, events. Things are really looking up!

My photography is slowly spreading it's tendrils into landscape and portrait photography partly due to some outdoor trips I've taken and some changes happening in my friends lives. Nothing like a little cathartic ingredient or two to stir up the creative juices.

Thanks to a God, forgiving of everything.
Thanks to Nature, a constant source of inspiration.
Thanks to Jeremy, a good example, truly kind, and my single best friend.

So I graduated college a month ago and had my first day at work today. Life's been pretty amazing since school's been over. Doesn't mean I'm not going back though! Plans for my MBA and Masters are already in the works!

It snowed at my house today. It was very special for me because I haven' seen it snow that hard in well over a decade! That's the price you pay for living in the south.

So, this summer has been very different.

1. It's my last real semester at college.
2. I got my first two traffic tickets within 3 days of each other.
3. I had to threaten someone about calling the cops.
4. It's my first summer with my new camera...!


Of the top list, I think I'm only really happy about number four.
Graduating is scary but I will definitely have way more time for photos, and resources that I had planned.

And money. That's always nice for the budding artist.
Assuming my Comp. Sci Job doesn't drain me.
It won't.

And I'll finally have the freedom to travel. Which means more awesome photos..! Or well more feeling awesome while taking photos!

I have a test on Monday but I'm too happy to study.

I'm turning 22 in 2 months.
Oh my god.

It seems my photoshop brushes are what really are popular here on Deviantart. I think, now, instead of uploading photography here, I will stick to uploading photoshop resources for the masses.

I think I have 3 more semesters of school remaining. Thats less than half a year. Am I graduating out of college already? Life is catapulting me through it quickly. How can I slow down? I have no time to savor anything. :/

Its Summer!
Or I thought it was but the days are still coming in cold.
I didnt deviate from macro photography as much as I had hoped but there was some progress made. I have had my eye on some new cameras recently, since my little HP R607 works wonderfully, but I would like a more professional camera. I believe I can make far more progress with something like a DSLR. One day, when I have enough money I think I will buy one with a nice lens.
Other than that, I've started summer semester in school, which hopefully I will do well in.

The new semester has started, and the previous entry is getting stale.
I will post a small update on my life, and my works.

I had a grand holiday with good news, good people, and plenty of rest. My fourth semester at this University has begun and I am hopeful for many good things to come.

As for my photography, I've started to try and push myself away from macro photography into some other perspectives of life. I've gotten decent at taking shots of things up close, and now I think it is time for me to focus on taking pictures of scenes, events, and people.

Its a daunting task since people move a lot, and composition is key to a successful piece.

Im learning. Hopefully I will be able to post as I go and you might be able to detect this small change in my photographic style.

I sat down and calculated my GPA for this semster, worst case and best case.
It looks like at best Case my GPA is going to be a 3.75 and worst worst case a 3.2.
Im expecting a 3.5

I cant believe I did so great this semester.
I really had lost all faith in myself after two semesters here of uberfail.

I prayed like all the time for God to help me do better than I thought I was capable of.
Im so glad.

I worked so hard. I kept my focus.
And ... funny thing is its not because I freaked out and worked uber duber hard and then conquered my mountain!
It was because I let go.

I thought..from all the past experiences of my life, all the things that I thought were "utterly horrible" as they happened to me ended up making me stronger, better, ... everything good. So even if I fail and lose everything I wanted, it still doesnt matter. Because it was destroyed it doesnt have to destroy me. And it wont. And that was my inner attitude this semester. I let go.

I'll do my best, and if thats not enough, then fine, Ill still keep on doing my best.

One day, if things go as they are and all sorts of stuff keeps being thrown at me, Ill be a strong person.
Like a rock being sharpened into an arrowhead.

I cant wait for the rest of my life.

So like, Im not entirely sure how that exam went.
I did it...but in a state of panic. I think Istudied too much.

Right.
The last two days have been dreary, wet, and rather cold. Its the makings of a depressing atmosphere for me. I really shouldnt let it affect my mood so much but its like it cant be helped. Just walking to class every morning in that drab monotone type of surrounding just turns me off. The weather forecast says there will be ample sunshine and copius amounts of heat in the coming days, so I have that to look forward to.

I'm having "What if I fail out of Tech" fear syndrome again.

But  I have that like every other week so its all cool. I dont mind too much, considering it usually scares me into doing my work better and more in advance. Next week is going to be a doozy, with two exams and countless small assignments.
What did I want to say in this post?  I suppose its mostly that I have no time for anything big and relazing. This weekend itself is already planned to be hectic with many events and appointments. I wish my family would calm down and chill out. I get so much more relaxing done at college than at home. I mean, really, thats not the way it should be. I've stopped looking forward to weekends for rest. Its just not the way things are anymore. Instead, I find myself waiting and longing for Sunday night when I can get back to my nice calm atmosphere here.

Maybe I can spend a weekend or two here sometime. That would be really nice, somewhat like a small vacation.

Thank God Fall break is next weekend.  At least then half my family will be a) at work b) leaving back for the mother country c)at school  in which case I'm free to do what I wish. Well, Im telling myself that anyway.

Ah..gotta run to CS...shouldnt waste my time on midday entries.
